                          The Insurance Professionals of Oakland

The Insurance Professionals of Oakland is a small association but works very hard to give back to our community in any way that we can.  Every year we hold a raffle fundraising event to help support a local organization by donating 50% of the proceeds. This year it was decided that we support our local food bank, The County of Alameda Food Bank, since the need is so very great due to the economy and donations are low.  We called the raffle “Christmas in July” because it is usually around the Christmas holiday season that many of us support food drives for our local food banks.

We sold tickets for $2 each or 3 for $5.  A small contribution for a chance to win some great prizes.  The raffle prizes were as follows:

1st Prize - $100 American Express Gift Card

2nd Prize - $50 Safeway Gift Card

3rd Prize - $25 Chevron Gas Card

Our members reached out to family members, friends, co-workers, and sister associations for their continued support.  Word traveled to a company who donated $100 towards our cause!!!!  Thank you very much State Compensation Insurance Fund for your support.  In all, we raised just under $1,200 and presented The Alameda County Food Bank with a check for $600!  The remaining monies raised go towards costs associated with the fundraiser (tickets & prizes) and to support our local NAIW association.
