I am a relatively new member of IAIP having joined in July of 2011.  I  was introduced to IAIP by a member of the San Diego Insurance Women, Jen Doud. I was impressed by the friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere of the first San Diego Insurance Women meeting I attended and decided right away that I would join.  I currently serve on SDIW’s Public Relations Committee and I really enjoy it.  I have already benefitted from the organization by attending informative educational courses and meeting many wonderful people at the monthly meetings and other networking events.  I also appreciate that the members are supportive of one another both professionally and personally. 

In 2001, I worked briefly as a claims examiner, however, most of my experience with the insurance industry has been as an attorney. After graduating from Law School and passing the California State Bar exam in 1998, I immediately began a career in insurance defense work.  As an attorney, I work with primarily claims professionals and insureds providing the legal assistance required to resolve lawsuits and other claims against the insureds.  Currently, the primary focus of my practice is the representation of developers, general contractors, construction managers, and subcontractors in construction related litigation such as construction defect claims and construction site accident claims.  I also represent design professionals such as engineers and architects in professional negligence claims.  My practice has also handled a wide variety of other matters that are typically covered by Commercial General Liability policies.
